1. What is the procedure if I want my child to attend a school outside of my district?

Complete a Student Reassignment Form by July 1 for a first semester transfer, or by November 15 for a second semester transfer.

Forms are obtained from Central Services office or your local school office. Applications will be submitted to Board of Education for approval.

2. Can I transfer my child to Edgecombe County Public Schools if I live in another county?

Out of county students may apply to attend school in Edgecombe County Schools by completing a Student Reassignment form and submitting it by the deadline dates. If approved, out of county students are subject to tuition fees, and must be released from their current school system.

3. My child will be entering kindergarten in the fall, can I request my child to attend kindergarten at another school?

Kindergarten students are eligible to submit Student Reassignment Request forms, however, Kindergarten students must complete early registration within their current school district. Board of Education approval of requests is based upon space availability.
