He will assume the position July 1.
Strother began his teaching career at Tarboro High School in 2000, where he was a health and physical education teacher. He also taught at Martin Millennium Academy. He was the Teacher of the Year for Edgecombe County Public Schools in 2013.
"I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve a community that is invested, supportive and that takes great pride in South Edgecombe Middle School. Authentic community engagement will be a primary focus as we move forward. Our doors will always be open and all stakeholders are invited to take an active role in the education of the students at South Edgecombe," said Strother.
