Lampron named ECPS Principal of the Year

"We are proud of Dr. Lampron’s many accomplishments at Pattillo. She is a highly successful principal who continues to create ways to help students reach their full potential. Through her work with social emotional learning, she has demonstrated her deep rooted concern for students and their families,” said Dr. Valerie Bridges, ECPS superintendent.

Principals are judged on many criteria. Each is expected to merit the respect and admiration of students, teachers, and other professional coworkers, parents, and members of his or her community. Involvement in the community, as well as in school activities, also is considered. Candidates are expected to provide opportunities for academic achievement to a diverse student population.

Lampron was chosen by a community panel of stakeholders and will now represent Edgecombe County Public Schools in regional competition with hopes of becoming the Wells Fargo North Carolina Principal of the Year.

Since 1984, Wells Fargo Bank has financially supported this program in collaboration with the Department of Public Instruction to recognize outstanding principals from the North Carolina public schools.

“I recognize the collective talent of administrators in our district and I am grateful for the continued source of inspiration their presence provides. We have created a network of sharing and lifting each other as we work together to close achievement gaps and ensure equity in all of our schools in ECPS. I am honored to represent our team of ECPS leaders,” said Lampron.

“We value any time Pattillo is able to share collective efforts to make an impact on our students. Our teachers and staff members give 100% daily so it makes it easy to lead when people are always working together as a family,” added Lampron.
