Holland named Principal of G.W. Carver Elementary School

“I'm excited to return to ECPS and especially to G. W. Carver Elementary School.  I am a firm believer that strong communities build strong schools with committed staff, parents, and other community stakeholders all coming together to support and invest in the growth of our children,” said Holland.

“Carver is a school which has long embodied these values under many tremendous leaders and I am honored to begin working to create those same strong bonds and relationships as I proudly serve the people of Edgecombe County and the community in and around Pinetops,” added Holland.

Holland attended East Carolina University as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. He began his teaching career at Beddingfield High School as a Social Studies and History teacher. He was the Teacher of the Year for Wilson County Schools in 2008. In 2013, he completed his Master’s Degree in School Administration at East Carolina University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Education.

Holland will begin his tenure as principal of G.W. Carver Elementary School starting April 16, 2018.
