New assistant principals named

 

Casandra Haddock will be an assistant principal at Martin Millennium Academy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from East Carolina University.  She began her career in education 17 years ago with Pitt County Public Schools. She has spent 7 years as an elementary teacher in Edgecombe County. Most recently, Cassandra served as a principal resident at Martin Millennium Academy during the 2017-2018 school year. Haddock received her master’s degree in school administration from North Carolina State University as a North Carolina Leadership Academy Fellow. 

 

Jessica Parker will serve as an assistant principal at both Martin Millennium Academy and Phillips Middle School. She earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In addition to serving as an instructional coach, she has taught in both elementary and middle school settings in the twin counties. Last year, she served as a principal resident at Coker-Wimberly Elementary School. Parker received her master’s degree in school administration from North Carolina State University as a North Carolina Leadership Academy Fellow. 

 

Tomeika Brown will transition from her role as the instructional coach at West Edgecombe Middle School to assistant principal. She has dedicated over 13 years of service to North Carolina’s Public Schools System, beginning her career in education as an Instructional Assistant for five years with Wilson County Schools. She later received her licensure in elementary education from Barton College. Mrs. Brown began teaching on the elementary level and taught for eight years. In 2017, she graduated from Barton College with a master’s degree in school administration.

 

Hillary Boutwell will serve as an assistant principal at Tarboro High School. Boutwell started her career as a middle grades chorus and drama teacher.  She came to Edgecombe County Public Schools in 2014 and served as the choral director at both South and West Edgecombe Middle Schools.  In the Fall of 2014, she was named as an assistant principal at Tarboro High School.  She served in this capacity until the Spring of 2016, and then went to serve as assistant principal at North Edgecombe High School.  Over the last two years, she was the principal of G.W. Bulluck Elementary School.

 

Shavon Brown will be an assistant principal at SouthWest Edgecombe High School. She has served as an educator with Edgecombe County Public Schools for 14 years. She is a graduate of East Carolina University and earned her National Board certification while teaching 9th-12th grade English at Tarboro High School. During the 2017-2018 school year, Brown completed her principal residency at G.W. Carver Elementary School and Martin Millennium Academy. In May 2018, she received a master’s degree in school administration from North Carolina State University as a North Carolina Leadership Academy Fellow. 

 

Dominque Manson will also serve as an assistant principal at SouthWest Edgecombe High School. He is a graduate of NC A&T State University with a bachelor’s degree in sports & fitness management. He also earned a master of arts degree in teaching.  He has served as a physical education teacher, head junior varsity football coach, head JV girls’ basketball coach, and head track coach in Johnston County. Manson is currently working towards a master’s degree in school administration from North Carolina State University as a North Carolina Leadership Academy Fellow.
