Welcome to the CTE Department!

Welcome to the Edgecombe County Public Schools - Career and Technical Education.  It is my privilege to be responsible for the leadership of the Career and Technical Education program.  This includes the strategic plan and vision, management of budget, technology, program equipment and CTE Support Staff.  CTE provides administrative support to both middle and high school principals, teachers, superintendent, and local board of education through effective communication of pertinent information.

CTE also provides the following services:

  • Facilitate appropriate staffing and staff development focused on improved instruction and student achievement through performance data analysis
  • Collaborate with postsecondary institutions to promote seamless transitions and articulation for students
  • Participate in regional and state conferences, workshops, and meetings to stay current on CTE issues such as legislation, policies, labor market, and economic development trends
  • Work cooperatively to build strong community/business and industry involvement to promote and enhance Career and Technical Education programs.

Currently, we have 28 teachers that work throughout the district at all middle and high schools. In addition, we have three Career Development Coordinators located at each of the comprehensive high schools in the district who work with student services counselors, school administration, teachers, parents, and students to provide career guidance for our students to assist with college and career readiness for our graduates.  They also monitor and support teachers with all credentialing and assessments for CTE students.
