A Will To Live

ECPS Student Support Services partners with the Edgecombe County Sheriff Department. A.W.T.L. is an Intervention Program that allows our youth to see how making poor choices have consequences that lead to unintended danger, jail, or loss.

A.W.T.L. is one (1) day session, the last Friday of each month September through May for ECPS parents and scholars. Scholars tour the Edgecombe County jail, a local funeral home, complete a fitness workout, and have one on one discussions with an ECSD mentor about making good choices. Parent sessions include topics like school attendance, mental health, gangs, substance abuse, and parenting strategies.

Participants must be 10 to 16 years of age.  If you would like to be a part of this program, contact your school counselor or Bertina Spragley-Edgecombe County Sheriff Department at 252-641-7915 for an application. There are only twelve (12) spots available each month!
