The purpose of Family Fun Literacy nights were to share ideas with families on how to incorporate learning into fun activities at home. Each family was asked to take a Family Home Literacy Survey to self-evaluate what literacy activities are currently taking place in their home, as well as provide ideas of some additional activities that can be implemented throughout the day.
Families had dinner together and had conversations centered on “Talk-Show Time Card” questions, an activity taken from the “Engaging Families in Children’s Literacy Development” curriculum. After dinner, families enjoyed playing a variety of board and card games.
