ECPS Office 365

In order to help our students prepare for success this school year, we’re providing Office 365 to you FREE of charge. You will now be able to work in the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and much more. You can install your Office 365 on up to five compatible PCs and Macs, plus five tablets (including iPad!). All work can be saved online in OneDrive so it can be accessed no matter which device is being used. This is the same software that our faculty uses making working together easier. And finally, you can use this Office 365 subscription for as long as you are a student at Edgecombe County Public Schools.  All staff members, with a valid ECPS email account, are also eligible to receive MS Office.  The instructions are the same as for the students, just use your email account.  

To get your Office 365 follow these simple steps:

1. Visit Office.com/GetOffice365

2. Click through to download & sign in with your credentials (Your full ECPS email example: [email protected] Password is your computer login password)

3. On the download site, select your language and click install

Office 365 for Education is a collection of services that allows you to collaborate and share your schoolwork. It’s available for free to teachers who are currently working at an academic institution and to students who are currently attending an academic institution. The service includes Office Online (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote), unlimited OneDrivestorage , Yammer, and SharePoint sites. Some schools allow teachers and students to install the full Office applications on up to 5 PCs or Macs for free. If your school provides this additional benefit, you'll see the Install Office button on your Office 365 home page after you complete sign-up.

You must be a full-time or part-time faculty or staff member or student at an academic institution and:

  • Have a school-specific email address provided by the school (for example, contoso.edu) that can receive external email.
  • Be of legal age to sign up for an online offer individually.
  • Have Internet access.

To see what’s included in Office 365 for Education, visit the Office 365 for Education plan page. You can enroll your school from there.

You can use the plan as long as you are working at a qualified school. Your eligibility may be re-verified at any time. When your Office 365 for Education plan expires:

  • The Office applications enter a reduced-functionality mode, which means that you can view documents, but you cannot edit or create new documents.
  • Online services associated with the school email address—for example, Office Online and OneDrive—will no longer work.

In many cases, the response time is instantaneous through an automated verification process. In other cases where an institution needs to be verified, it shouldn’t take more than three to seven days. If you are nearing the end of your 30-day trial and have not received approval of eligibility, please contact customer support.

This account is associated with the school and should be used for school-appropriate content. Permissions and access can be changed by the school’s IT administrator at any time.

Office 365 for Education is licensed for use only by the eligible teacher.
